Recovery Point Systems Recognized in the ISG Provider Lens™ Mainframes - Services and Solutions U.S. 2024 Report

Recovery Point is included in the Mainframe as a Service (MFaaS) and Mainframe Operations quadrants for both the private and public sectors.

Germantown, MD – April 12, 2024 – Recovery Point Systems, a leader in cloud-based business resilience services based in Germantown, is pleased to announce its recognition in the Information Services Group (ISG) Provider Lens™ Mainframes – Services & Solutions U.S. 2024 Report. Recovery Point is included in the Mainframe as a Service (MFaaS) and Mainframe Operations quadrants for both the private and public sectors.

The study focuses on what ISG perceives as most critical in 2024 for Mainframes Services and Solutions and serves as a guide for organizations evaluating their mainframe commitment and modernization strategy. For the study, ISG evaluated 57 vendors and service providers across five quadrants – Mainframe Optimization Services; Mainframe Application Modernization Services; Mainframe as a Service (MFaaS); Mainframe Operations; and Mainframe Application Modernization Software.

The report positions Recovery Point as a “Contender” in Mainframe as a Service (MFaaS) and Mainframe Operations. Contenders are promising services providers that show evidence of rapidly investing in products/services and follow a sensible market approach with a goal of becoming a Product or Market Challenger within 12 to 18 months. Of the 57 vendors evaluated, 14 qualified for MFaaS and 18 for Mainframe Operations.

ISG highlights that while many mainframe service providers offer disaster recovery, Recovery Point offers consulting and expertise that few companies can match in the U.S. market. “Recovery Point goes beyond technical expertise, providing clients with guidance to define backup frequency, governance, processes, testing and validation. The company’s specialization and focus provide it with clear differentiation.”

“We are thrilled to be recognized in the ISG Provider Lens for Mainframe Services & Solutions,” said Jack Dziak, CEO of Recovery Point. “We are uniquely positioned in the business resiliency market as a pure play provider of disaster and cyber recovery. While most Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) providers are limited to servicing virtualized x86 Windows and Linux environments, our decades-long expertise shines in navigating the complexities of heterogeneous landscapes – from the desktop to the mainframe. This recognition is a testament to the continued evolution of our solutions and services, and the client-focused nature of how we do business.”

In addition to expertise and technology, Recovery Point owns Tier III data centers and partners with colocation providers, enabling multi-region backup and recovery, thus enhancing disaster recovery effectiveness.

Key highlights from the report include:

  • ISG expects Recovery Point will continue to improve the use of modern mainframe solutions such as cyber resilient point-in-time recovery, tape-to-cloud technology, low-cost cloud storage and recovery automation.
  • Reduced risk: Recovery Point’s resilience solutions reduce risks with backup accuracy and disaster recovery testing, ensuring RTO and RPO can be met.
  • Future-proof solution: Recovery Point continuously invests in training and technology modernization. Its investments enable a sustained evolution of clients’ mainframes.
