Gartner has released its 2023 Market Guide for Disaster Recovery as a Service. Recovery Point was selected as one of three firms in a distinguished group known as Evolved Traditional DR Providers. Vendors noted in this group are historically well known for traditional disaster recovery and demonstrate evolved service offerings. The primary distinguishing differences are that they have decades of experience managing disaster declarations and deep competencies in supporting the recovery of a wide range of non-x86 workloads. For those reasons, they tend to have some of the largest and most complex engagements
Key Findings:
- Organizations — Seventy-two percent of organizations are poorly positioned in terms of disaster recovery capabilities, with 63% likely suffering from “mirages of overconfidence.”
- Provider offerings — Leading disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) providers are continuing their efforts to differentiate by providing options for application-level recovery, cyber-related recovery and support for cloud workloads.
- Market flux — Numerous DRaaS providers have been involved in mergers, acquisitions or splits, or have gone into administration over the last 18 months.
